“I specialize in botanical and nature-inspired tattoos with an illustrative style,” she says. “My work often leans a little whimsical and nostalgic—like something out of a dream or a well-loved storybook.”

Natural Influence

Raised in the lush tropics of South Florida and later spending years among the mossy woods of New England, Mel carries both landscapes with her.

“The contrast between lush, untamed tropics and quiet, mossy woods continues to inspire my work,” she says.

And while tattooing wasn’t passed down through family, creativity certainly was. “I come from a long line of makers—quilters, gardeners, storytellers—so in a way, it’s all woven together. I just happened to find my medium in ink and skin.”
