Robert Beeman: Realism Refined
From a childhood spent hanging around South Florida tattoo shops to a professional career grounded in black and grey realism, Robert Beeman brings years of experience and depth to every tattoo he creates. Known for his technical control, rich detail, and thoughtful approach to large-scale work, Beeman is a cornerstone of the Ink & Dagger artist lineup.
Legacy in the Making
Born in Fort Lauderdale, Robert grew up immersed in tattoo culture thanks to his father’s close ties to the South Florida scene. Summers spent in local shops left a lasting impression, and by 2013, he picked up the machine himself—mentored by childhood friend Kai Stallings.
After nearly a decade honing his skills at Planet Ink, Robert joined Ink & Dagger to further develop his craft and pursue his passion for realism and composition-driven design.
Classic Influence Meets Contemporary Style
Robert’s work centers around black and grey realism, often at a large scale. Full sleeves, backs, and legs are where his precision and patience really shine.
With an eye for smooth gradients, dramatic contrast, and dynamic balance, he brings both technical excellence and artistic intuition to every tattoo. When a project calls for it, he blends illustrative elements into his realism, creating rich, custom compositions that feel both grounded and imaginative.
His inspirations reflect that blend of old and new. From the timeless genius of Leonardo da Vinci (whose portrait he proudly wears on his own arm) to modern painters, digital sculptors, comic books, and graphic novels—Robert channels a wide range of artistic influence into his tattoo work.
Collaboration Is Key
For Robert, the ideal tattoo experience is a true collaboration. Whether a client comes in with a fully-formed idea or just a vague vision, he thrives on helping them find the right direction. “I love working with people who bring a strong personal connection to their concept,” he says, “but I also enjoy helping someone who feels stuck or uncertain find something they’re excited to wear forever.”
Robert brings patience and perspective to every consultation, creating a calm and supportive space for clients—especially important in long-term, large-scale projects where trust and communication are essential.
Beyond the Studio
When he’s not tattooing, Robert is a devoted family man. He spends as much time as possible outdoors with his wife and kids—gardening, hiking, swimming, and planning their next adventure together.
He’s also got a strong DIY streak, enjoying woodworking, 3D printing, digital design, and hands-on garage projects. Whether building something from scratch or exploring a new creative tech hobby, he finds balance in staying both grounded and curious.
Let’s Build Something Big
Whether you’re dreaming of a large-scale black and grey piece or need help developing a concept from scratch, Robert Beeman is the kind of artist who brings clarity, craftsmanship, and care to every step of the process.
