Amber Grey: Blackwork with Heart

Amber Grey’s tattoos are unmistakably hers—big, bold, elegant, and occasionally odd in the best way. They’re anchored by clean lines and detailed stipple shading that stand up against time. She brings a mix of illustrative, blackwork, fine line, and ornamental tattoos to Ink & Dagger, creating pieces that feel eclectic and earthy. With a heart of gold and years of experience, she brings a first-class tattooing experience that feels approachable for all.

Where It All Started

Amber grew up in Woodstock, with plenty of time spent in Jacksonville and Savannah—places that shaped her love of art, nature, and movement.

She was exposed to tattoos from the very beginning. Her dad regularly came home with fresh ink, and the members of her favorite bands were heavily tattooed rockstars. By 2013, she took the plunge into tattooing and never looked back.

Her Artistic Niche & What Inspires Her

Amber specializes in illustrative blackwork with bold outlines, detailed stippling, and a signature mix of natural elements, symbolic imagery, and ornamental flow.

She loves building castle-like designs that wrap beautifully around the body, and she’ll never shy away from florals—those will never get old. Lately, she’s been challenging herself to blend all her favorite motifs into large-scale projects.

Her inspiration shows up everywhere: shower thoughts, antique shop finds, flowers on a walk, Pinterest boards, classic tattoo flash, and even her grandma’s couch (those vintage patterns are pure gold). Amber sees potential even in the most ordinary moments, and her clients reap the benefits of that imagination.

Life Outside the Studio

When she's not tattooing, Amber is a mom, a wife, and someone who stays grounded through movement, nature, and creativity. She loves creek exploring with her kids, rollerskating, camping with her family, thrifting for vintage treasures, and pushing herself in roller derby as her alter-ego, Slamber Alert. With authenticity at the front, Amber brings her knack for connecting with others to the studio. If you sit with her, be prepared to talk about music and your response to amusing hypothetical scenarios.
