Originally from Medellín, Colombia, Luis Hinestroza creates tattoos that blend the precision of engraving with the boldness of traditional design. Surrounded by painters and artists growing up, he developed a deep appreciation for detail and craftsmanship early on.

Tattooing since 2009, Luis draws inspiration from classical masters like Albrecht Dürer and Colombian artists such as Fernando Botero and Omar Rayo. His work combines fine line etching techniques, illustrative textures, and timeless blackwork aesthetics to create bold, wearable art that lasts.

After years of guest spots, Luis joined Ink & Dagger as a resident artist in 2022. He thrives on collaboration—crafting tattoos that balance personal symbolism with artistic freedom. Outside the studio, he enjoys quiet time with his cats, exploring nature, and finding inspiration in both solitude and the world around him.
